The Hong Kong Wushu Team achieved outstanding results in many international competitions in 2013. In the 12th World Wushu Championships, Geng Xiaoling won one gold and two silver medals, and Zheng Tianhui won silver in Women’s Duilian. In the 6th East Asian Games, Geng Xiaoling and Zheng Tianhui also won one gold and one silver. In March this year, Geng Xiaoling won a Hong Kong Sports Stars Award and Zhengtian Hui also won a Hong Kong Sportsmanship Sports Stars Award.
In the Incheon Asian Games, Geng Xiaoling is capable of competing with other countries’ athletes for the Gold medal. As she will retire after this Asian Games, she will strive for the best results in this tournament. Zheng Tianhui went through an operation and had her torn cruciate ligament repaired earlier this year, but it doesn’t affect her determination to participate in the Asian Games. Both athletes have tremendous perseverance, and through their interviews, the audience can better understand the athletes’ hard work behind their medals. Born and raised in Hong Kong, Yuen Ka-ying came fourth in the Nanquan and Nandao all-round Women event at the last Asian Games in Guangzhou.
