On Friday's Backchat, racism towards Overseas Chinese; and World Obesity Day.
A survey released by Australian think-tank Lowy Institute found that nearly one in five Chinese
Australians have experienced verbal or physical abuse because of their heritage.
Most respondents (66 per cent) said the COVID-19 pandemic contributed to the racist
incidents, while more than half blamed the state of Australia-China relations.
And community groups supporting Chinese communities in the UK are being trained to support victims of Covid-related racial attacks, after a Chinese lecturer was assaulted last week.
Have you or your family friends experienced such racism? Why do you think it is apparently
increasing?

From 9:15am-9:30am we'll be discussing the dangers of obesity and connections to Covid.
